Caroline Casey is another one of my favorites, "Making the Gods Work for You," which is the astrological language of the psyche. She goes through all the different planets and gives a really great understanding of them in very simple terms. She is a visionary activist, who really has a unique way of fusion of astrology and compassionate social activism and esoteric, spiritual traditions that areinterwoven with her humor, that is very appealing, and really hits home. She talks about how important it is to use our imagination to dream a more beautiful universe into being. |

I also like Barry Long, who is a spiritual teacher. He has an
audio tape called "How to Live Joyously," and also "Making Love." He
is a tantric teacher as well as a spiritual teacher, and helps to bring about a radical
change of consciousness, which is his ultimate purpose of spiritual teaching. He teaches
you practical ways of being free from the past. He is definitely worth checking out.

I highly recommend any of Cunningham's books - "Earth Power," "Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs," "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner," "Living Wicca," as great, empowering books for those interested in Wicca and Earth Religions. Great for a solid grounding in Craft philosophy. Cunningham also had a very meaningful and poetic approach to his teachings. He achieved a magical rapport with the life energy of the universe. |

It goes into everything from your special talents to self-defeating tendencies, relationships, and strategies that can help you along the way, and the traps and healing affirmations - it's a really all-around great book. |

I like Parker's Astrology Book, which is by Julia and Derek Parker. It is a definitive guide to using astrology in every aspect of your life, which is great - it has an ephemeris in the back, and is very easy to read and look up information. The pictures of each sign are so well done. Tasty. Traditional associations and symbolism of each sign are featured as well. |

For beginning astrologers, I would highly recommend The Only Way to Learn Astrology, Volume 1, by Marian D. March and Joan McEvers. They feature the basic principles in simple language...a great perspective on the essentials of astrology for beginners. |

A book called "Tuesday," by David Wiesner, is amazingly colorful. It helps to bring a certain mood and mystery to the palate. It has rich blues and greens, and it helps to transport you along with some frogs on lilypads, into the pleasures of an airborne adventure. |

There is a beautiful childrens' book called "The Butter Thief," by Chris Murray, which is the story of long ago in India, where there lived the most wonderful child named Krishna. He lived very happilywith his mother and father in a beautiful village in Vrindavana. Chris tells one of Krishna's most endearing pasttimes. Highly recommended, superb illustrations. Sure to steal the hearts of everyone. |

I really like "The Shaman's Apprentice," which is a tale of the Amazon Rain Forest. It is written by Lynne Cherry and Mark J. Plotkin. The illustrations are by Lynne Cherry. It talks about deep in the heart of the Amazon Rain Forest, there is an Indian village, and in the village is a shaman, and the story goes into the vast wisdom of the healing secrets of the forest plants. In the book, the actual plants and their names are shown, as well as the English interpretation of them. The colors are lively and enticing, and the tale is a great way to pass on information about the medicinal value of the Rain Forest plants from one generation to the next and the importance of this knowledge about the healing properties of the Rain Forest. |
